Krišjānis Sants is an internationally working choreographer and dancer. Krišjānis graduated from the Latvian Academy of Culture (BA - Contemporary Dance), the Belgian contemporary dance and performing arts school P.A.R.T.S. (Training and Research cycles) and the Art Academy of Latvia (MA - Scenography). Krišjānis is part of the artist duo IevaKrish. It runs the contemporary dance organisation Tuvumi, where Krišjānis’ works are widely performed in Europe - “House of Labrys” (48 performances in Latvia, Estonia and Germany), “Vērpete” (38 performances in Latvia, Sweden and Lithuania). Krišjānis is one of the founders and directors of the HOROS dance programme, which organises an international dance artist residency and accompanying dance performance festival in Aizpute every year. Krišjānis has received the Performers’ Night (“Spēlmaņu nakts”) Latvian Theatre Award in 2016 and the Dance Award 2024. From 2016 to 2024, Krišjānis has collaborated extensively as a performer with the Belgium-Norway based dance company Field-works. In his spare time, Krišjānis serves on the board of the Association of Contemporary Cultural NGOs and the Latvian National Council for Culture.
